     Hello to all aspiring writers!

I have recently received a number of inquiries from independent authors, asking my opinion on what they can do to improve their own writing skills and increase their book sales. Other than taking a college course in English or a writing class, I advised all indie writers to invest in someone who can edit their manuscript.
I am an avid reader and have read many books and reviews of authors who have self-published work. Positive reviews are very uplifting and every indie author enjoys receiving them. Nevertheless, I believe even a negative review should be looked at objectively and taken into consideration. Especially the ones that advises the author that their work would greatly benefit from a professional that would proofread for grammatical errors, including spelling, capitalization, punctuation, verb tense, and sentence structure. No one is perfect, and even the best authors have editors.
There are many avenues one can take, including a friend, an English teacher you may know, or an editing company on the internet. Many of the editing companies on the internet offer free samples, and I recommend that if you do this, you ask them for a sample by sending them a snippet of your manuscript, to see what you think of their work, and then compare prices.
Through trial and error, I actually found an honest and reliable company who I believe is one of the best. I have used proofreadingpal.com and found them to be outstanding, and I highly recommend their work. I honestly believe that having an editor will improve your chances of getting more people to read your work, which in turn wil help to increase your book sales.

     Happy writing,
